"Kya dhoondh rahi ho un sitaron main?" He asked her as he too stared at the serene night sky with a slight smile. It was past midnight but she was sitting on the small bench of her balcony looking at the sky as if chatting with them.
"Apne sukoon ko" she replied in a faint voice.
"Par sukoon ka sitaron se kya naata?" He asked but his tone was enough to understand that he already knew the answer.
"Mere sukoon ko sitare dekhna bahut pasand tha" She said, a small smile embracing her lips while a tear escaped her eyes
"Chaar saal ho gaye hai Ishqi" He said turning towards her as concern etched his forehead.
"Chaar saal" she faintly whispered to herself as if confirming it to herself.
"Kab tak mere peeche apni zindagi kharaab karogi, aage badh jao apni zindagi jiyo aur khush raho"
"Agar tum meri jagah hote to tum aage badh jaate? Main khush hun Aahan, bas akele"
He was dumbfounded, he knew there was nothing he could do to convince her, he just looked at her as if it was the first time he was seeing her.
"I was not lying when I promised my entire life to you 5 years ago" She said smiling with tears in her eyes as she turned around but he wasn't there anymore she sighed.
"If there is another lifetime, I hope I am the first one to leave." She said as she continued staring at the stars hoping that in some unprecedented twist of fate she would find her way back to him, but who has ever come back once they have left?
